Very special THANK YOU to all those who were able to donate to my cause to fund free therapy sessions for BIPOC. Also, a warm and humble thanks to Transformation Counseling Services, LLC. for allowing me to collaborate with them on this cause. My heart is filled with gratitude for all those who've shown support through various methods, including donations and sharing the cause. Together, we were able to raise $230 out of our $2,500 goal. Together, we were able to help someone start on the path towards brighter days. Thank you!!

I am Black Wombman

Image
I am Black.  I am a wombman.  I carry the Eve gene.  I carry my melanin. I am fearless.  I am powerful.  I am strong.  I am fire blazing through your wildest dreams like symphonies. I am the Queen Bee, the pollen you need, sweeter than anything you’ve ever tasted. I am rage, burning down all your assumptions of who I should be. I stand in all my glory. I am a Queen. I am an Empress. I do not settle for less. I do not beg and plead. I expect the universe to bend and manifest for me. And when I’m not cut I can still bleed. And from this blood, one day my rebirth will breathe. And no matter how much you choke us, We will never cease. As long as I am alive. As long as my existence stirs something so deep in you that you wish me dead. No we won’t run and we won’t hide. As long as I live I will fight. As long as my aura makes you fret (And trust you ain’t seen nothing yet). As long as time is long, As we are the Alpha And will be the Omega. From every sea we shi

New Video Post! What's a "Jamerican?" Part 1

Image
In this video, I spend the first half explaining a bit of my story growing up in America as a Jamaican, and why I took on the name Jamerican, despite being born in Jamaica. This video goes into the story of my origin and how so many young immigrant professionals like myself come to America at a young age and wind up identifying as globalized citizens, due to our unique experiences as an immigrant in a melting pot of cultures. New YouTube Channel Debut!

Image
I'm excited to announce that I've started my YouTube Channel, called... you guessed it! The Jamerican Vegan! As a vegan food critic, I have been traveling all over to find the best vegan food in the world. Some places have lead me in to holes in the walls that have made my tastebuds dance with complete shock and utter surprise. As a vegan, my palette has opened up even more to new and different flavors. Coming from a Caribbean background, I grew up with lots of flavors and spices that have paved the way for my understanding of quality food and technique. I am pleased to be able to bring vegan food reviews to you all, and I can only hope that the reviews (or my humor) keep you around. Maybe you'll find a spot or two, or ten?! Maybe you'll decide to take that trip you've been wanting to take, just to try that dish you've always wanted to experience? Either way, if it's vegan, I'm there, and if I'm there, I'm taking you with me! Much love to

Finding Your Inner Peace

We are able to hold a variety of positions, and maintain our lives, despite unequal pay and monthly periods or hot-flashes. The list of jobs and careers women have in 2019 are comparable to men. Needless to say, we also carry an extra special trait. Many of us are fortunate enough to become mothers, and raise young men and women that have unlimited potential. This is just one remarkable trait that we own, including keeping a smile on our faces at work while experiencing the worst cramps that feel like your insides got tossed in a shredder (where’s the lie?). How do we do this? We are goddesses, by right, and we are multi-faceted. Somewhere along my plant-based journey, I realized very quickly that I needed to slow down and own my truth and my emotions. I had been so career driven, pushing to make my Jamaican family proud,
