CELEBRITY VEGAN CORNER: QUANTRELLE COKLEY ________________________________________________________________________ Sheree Grant | October 1, 2018 | www.thejamericanvegan.com ________________________________________________________________________ How does a song reveal another part of you to yourself that you never knew before? Photo: Courtesy of IG @quantrellecokley Music is the song of our frequencies, pulsating through time, etching and carving away at every dimension life has ever emerged from. I was just about to give up hope on music, after I noticed the shift in hip-hop. I stopped listening to a lot of mainstream music because it started feeling like a waste of space. I was tired of the new temporary artists who said a lot of nothing. I never got the hype.
BEFORE These photos were taken in the U.K. this summer, where I gained a considerable amount of weight in almost 1 month of stay. I went to conduct my research on digital archiving and Black Diasporic history, with a concentration on Caribbean history in Europe. These photos show my body at the weight of 233 pounds, which is the most I have ever weighed to date. With WW2 Veteran David Teacher at the Imperial War Museum, U.K. June 2017. Manchester Station in the U.K. with Steve Preston, owner of Pudding and Pie Being me, outside of the British Library in the United Kingdom, June 2017. At Tea, beside the London Eye July 2017 AFTER These are current photos of me, taken over the last few days and weeks. Most of the changes are in my face, arms and abdomen. Being VEGAN has allowed me to drop 29 pounds and counting, to date. I am currently still transitioning to a healthy weight, yet my focus is on feeling better and eating clean.
